A forum is being organised under the EU4Business initiative in the Ukrainian city of Sumy on 7 December, aimed at SMEs and the benefits they stand to gain from the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
Representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions, state authorities and the press are all invited to participate. The deadline for registration is 4 December.
The Forum – titled ‘Benefits of European Integration (in particular from the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement) for Companies of the Sumy Region’ is being organised by the Sumy Business Support Centre with the support of the EU4Business and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The event seeks to give a new impetus to the activities of SEMs in the Sumy region and in particular their integration into the wider European business space.
The agenda of the forum is split into two parts:
The first part - expert opinions (both theorists and practitioners) on:
- the possibilities of financial and consulting support for business in the framework of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement,
- protection of the interests of Ukrainian business in trade with the EU,
- opportunities to find new markets and business partners in the European Union.
The second part is open to communication between participants and experts in an OPEN SPACE format, around the advantages and obstacles in cooperation between enterprises of the Sumy region and European Union partners.
The Sumy Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
